After a successful season in Savage for both SS and nEo, the title was finally decided tonight in a dramatic playoff.

The atmosphere was brilliant with Scorebots, Winamp Radio commentating, and live coverage via GTV coupled with plenty of spectators all cheering. A few beers later and it was better than watching the football.

Anyway, our team did us proud and beat two games in a row to take the title. This meant even more to us because this was the last game for a number of our players who are retiring for exams and Real Life. Call this the last game of the Old Skool. For them, it made the whole season complete. Well done lads.

Look out for SS next season. We are training hard with our new lineup consisting of some old stars and some new under the expert coaching of NightFever.

Since the inactivity of some of our main players (mekon, sky, me and splitty) a new leader was needed to take SSCTF by the scruff of the neck and put some life back into it. About the time we were looking for a new captain, Nightfever mailed us and said he had left 7cs due to them folding and that he would be playing fully for SS again, and Nightfever was kinda chosen to take over and we considered him to be the perfect man for the job after the success he had with 7cs.

Make him feel welcome and fucking turn up to practices you lot, and we'll be back at the top very soon..

Well i7 rocked.

Once again SSUT massive descended into the front line that is Insomia 7 once again hoping to grab that elusive utctf cup, 3rd time lucky we were hoping, Was this to be ?? was it F***

A good showing of SS gamers arrived at Newbury, inc Blueh, Bodhi, Corran, DNM, Hol, Jools & SilverSurfer, Sky, Archangel and Mekon, mostly for SSUT with a few of the quakers tagging along :).

SSUT CTF Squad reached the final after BEATING KEA (3-1), the team who beat us in the final at i6 (Revenge is sweet). Anyway the final was against another rival at the i-series lans DOA. The clan that had beaten us at i5 to take the cup. The final turned out to be a bit of an anti-climax, we lost. But hey, that seems to be par for the course in UT CTF :)

Voice comms rocked, apologies to X, DR, TP, SLH, the lame CS team who kept opening the bloody door, and all the others who had to listen to us. Bodhi's nicknames and constant barracking of the opposition was a nice touch along with the desk fan stuck into his case.

The tradition of the SS warcow frenzy was upheld again this year and looks set to feature in the other forthcoming lans. Also the comical names that certain members of the squad decided to wear included RancidFannyJam, BSE, Daisy, Bimbo & FetidKnobCheese was quite a laff also. No guesses who thought up any of these names :)

Best moment :- some geek from DOA saying 'who is DNM then ?' us pointing to Keith and the DOA dude goes "oh, er hi" - lol

Life altering moment:- Mekon installing UT, best decision hes made and now hopes to play ictf for the UT squad.

I've updated the SS server to the latest OSP 0.99t.

As well as a number of bug fixes, Rhea has also added the capability of adding custom decals to the maps that are visible in spectator and warmup modes only (so it doesn't lag game players). I'm keen to get the SS and KML logos on every map we have on the SS server and have done q3dm6 as an example. Just log onto the SS server & float around to see what I mean.

So, SS players, I'd like you to read the Decal guide in the latest OSP and submit decal placement files so I can put them on the server. Pls try to coordinate with one another so you dont all end up doing the same map :) Oh, and only use the graphics you have available in the z-osp-sslogo1a.pk3. If you don't have this file, just join the server with autodownloads turned on.
